Narrative exposure Therapy (NET)
Narrative Exposure Therapy, abbreviated as "NET," is a brief treatment specifically developed for addressing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSS), especially when caused by multiple traumatic events over one's lifetime. NET focuses on your life history. In this treatment, after comprehensive psychoeducation, a timeline is laid out on the ground. The timeline is then worked through using narrative exposure, leading to the creation of a life document.
Traumatic or shocking experiences from the past leave profound imprints. The past continues to resurface in the present. When traumatic memories are accompanied by symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance, and sleep difficulties, it is referred to as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSS).
Extensive research has been conducted on the efficacy of NET, and the results demonstrate that NET is an effective treatment.
